After launching the flagships P9 and P9 Plus globally, Huawei has quietly announced the lite variant in Germany, dubbed as Huawei P9 Lite. The third variant of P9 is priced at EUR 299 (approx. Rs. 22,500), and will be available for purchase in May.
The Huawei P9 Lite features a 5.2 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display. It is powered by an octa-core Kirin 650 processor, clocked at 2 GHz, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. It bears 16 GB of internal storage, which is further expandable via microSD card up to 128 GB. Like its flagship siblings, the P9 lite also runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 on top and also includes fingerprint sensor.
The P9 Lite sports a 13 megapixel rear camera LED flash, and an 8 megapixel camera on the front. It will be backed by a 3000mAh battery, same as the Huawei P9, but won’t support fast charging as it does not have USB Type-C port. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS.
The Huawei P9 Lite measures 146.8×72.6×7.5 mm and weighs 143g. It will be offered in Gold, White, and Black color variants. However, there is no word on when this phone will be available outside Europe.
