Huawei has unveiled its new smartphone, Huawei Mate 8 in China. The price of the smartphone starts from CNY 2,999 (approx. Rs. 31,240), it comes in Champagne Gold, Moonlight Silver, Space Gray and Mocha Brown color variants.
The Huawei Mate 8 flaunts a 6 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with 2.5D glass Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Under the hood, it has Huawei Kirin 950 octa-core processor, coupled with Mali T880 GPU. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Emotion UI 4.0 on top.
The Mate 8 is announced in three variants, 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage , 4 GB RAM with 64 GB , and 4 GB RAM with 128 GB storage, all have expandable memory with microSD card. It is backed by a massive 4000 mAh battery. It also features a fingerprint sensor.
The Huawei Mate 8 sports a 16 megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX298 sensor, PDAF, OIS, f/2.0 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. It also has 8 megapixel front-facing camera, with f/2.4 aperture. Connectivity options on the phone includes 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC. It measures 157.1 × 80.6 × 7.9 mm and weighs 185 g.
The Huawei Mate 8 is currently available in China only and the prices different versions are as follows;
- China Unicom version 3GB RAM + 32GB for CNY 2,999 (approx. Rs. 31,240)
- Standard 4G version 3GB RAM + 32GB for CNY 3,199 (approx. Rs. 33,240)
- 4GB RAM + 64GB for CNY 3,699 (approx. Rs. 38,500)
- 4 GB RAM + 128 GB for CNY 4,399 (approx. Rs. 48,800)
The smartphone is set to hit global markets in Q1 of 2016.
