Huawei Honor V8 with 5.7-inch QHD display, 4GB RAM and 12MP dual rear cameras launched

After surfacing in many leaks and rumors, Huawei has officially launched the Huawei Honor V8, yesterday. The full metal unibody design smartphone comes in three variants and prices start at 2299 yuan (approx. Rs. 23,500). It is now available for orders in China and will go on sale from May 17th.

The USP of the Huawei Honor V8 are its 12 megapixel dual rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash, Laser AF, f/2.2 aperture, and 6P lens. It also supports the 360-degree dynamic photo. On the front, it boasts an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a f/2.4 aperture for selfie lovers. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 on top and also bears a fingerprint sensor at the back and an infrared sensor.

The Honor V8 features a 5.7-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D curved display and powered by 2.3GHz octa-core Kirin 950 SoC, coupled with Mali T880-MP4 GPU and 4 GB RAM, for the 32 GB variant. For the 64 GB variant, it flaunts a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560 × 1440 pixels) display with a 2.5D curved glass blending beautifully with the body, which is powered by an octa-core Kirin 955 processor, clubbed with Mali T880-MP4 GPU and 4 GB RAM. The company has also announced the third variant with the same specification as of 32 GB variant, but with added network support.

The V8 is backed by a 3500mAh battery with fast charging and offers connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. It measures 157 × 77.6 × 7.75 mm and weighs 170 g. It will be offered in Ceramic White, Platinum Silver, Rose Gold, Champagne gold, Ice Silver and Gray color variants.

The Huawei Honor V8 is priced at 2299 yuan (approx. Rs. 23,500) for the 32 GB variant, while the same variant with added network support costs 2499 yuan (approx. Rs. 25,500). The 64 GB storage version is priced at 2799 yuan (approx. Rs. 28,600). However, there is no word on its global roll out yet.
