Huawei Honor 8 with 5.2-inch FHD display, 4GB RAM and 12MP dual rear cameras launched

As expected, Huawei has officially launched the Huawei Honor 8 in China. The smartphone comes in three variants and prices start at 1999 yuan (approx. Rs. 20,500). It is now available for orders in China and will go on sale from July 19th.

The USP of the Huawei Honor 8 is its 12 megapixel dual rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash, Laser AF, f/2.2 aperture, and 6P lens. On the front, it boasts an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a f/2.4 aperture for selfie lovers. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 on top and also bears a fingerprint sensor at the back and an infrared sensor.

The Honor 8 flaunts a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D curved display and powered by an octa-core Kirin 950 SoC, coupled with Mali T880-MP4 GPU. It is offered in three storage variants, one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, while other two with 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage.

The Honor 8 is backed by a 3000mAh battery with fast charging and offers connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. It measures 145.5 x 71 x 7.45 mm and weighs 153 g. It will be offered in Pearl White, Sunrise Gold, Midnight Black, Sakura Pink and Sapphire Blue color variants.

The Huawei Honor 8 is priced at 1999 yuan (approx. Rs. 20,500) for the 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage variant, while the 4GB RAM with 32GB storage variant costs 2299 yuan (approx. Rs. 23,100). The 64 GB storage version is priced at 2499 yuan (approx. Rs. 25,100). However, there is no word on its global roll out yet.
