HTC U, allegedly called as the ‘HTC U 11’ is all set for its launch on 16th May and has been up with several leaks and speculations up till now. The smartphone is again spotted on the popular benchmarking portal Geekbench ahead of its launch. The scores of HTC U 11 indicate that it is almost as powerful as the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones.
The HTC U 11 is listed on Geekbench by the code name HTC CBP and considering the specifications, it is assumed that the smartphone is HTC U or HTC U 11 as it is presumably been dubbed up till now. The single-core test result of the smartphone counts 1921 and the multi-core result counts 6137. This is near by to the test result scores of Galaxy S8 which counted 1916 and 6011 for single-core and multi-core respectively. Taking about the Galaxy S8+, it has a single-core score of 1929 and a multi-core score of 6084.
The scores indicate that the perforce of HTC U 11 is at par with Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ considering that the HTC U 11 is also listed to sport a Snapdragon 835 processor similar to that of Galaxy S8 and S8+. The listing also hints that the smartphone will be running on Android 7.1.1 as rumoured before.
To recall, the highlight of the smartphone is its smart touch sensing edge technology. The smartphone is believed to come with touch sensitive edges which will interpret different squeezable gestures into various commands. This is certainly a new technology and hasn’t been spotted in any of the devices yet.
Coming towards the rumoured specifications, the smartphone is said to bare a 5.5 inches QHD+ display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor as it appears in listing. The HTC U 11 is said to come in two different variants, one with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage and another with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. The smartphone is rumoured to hold a 12 MP rear camera and a 16 MP front camera along with a 3,000 mAh battery for its powering.
