HTC had launched the HTC Desire 816G for Rs 18,990 in September, six months after launching the Desire 816 in India. HTC has upgraded the Desire 816G and has re-launched it in the Indian Market with a slightly higher price of Rs. 19,990.
As far as specifications are concerned, the upgraded Desire 816G is equipped with a better processor and more storage space. The earlier version of Desire 816G featured a 1.3 GHz MediaTek quad-core processor and a mere 8 GB of internal storage. This upgraded version has improved the overall performance of the smartphone by offering a 1.7 GHz octa-core processor which is paired with 1 GB of RAM. The internal storage is also improved from 8 GB to 16 GB which is an another plus point. External Memory can be expanded up to 32 GB via micro SD card.
This upgraded version of Desire 816G might turn out as a next step for HTC, towards a power packed combination of beautiful design and flagship performance. HTC desire series has got another flagship killer in its kitty.
Comparing with the basic version of Desire 816G, rest of the specifications are similar which includes a 5.5 inch HD display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It also sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash, 5-megapixel front-facing BSI camera sensor and a 2,600 mAh battery. The previous version ran Android 4.4.2 Kitkat, however there are no words from HTC about Android version for this upgraded smartphone.
This all new upgraded Desire 816G is a new competitor to the popular mid-range smartphones such as Lenovo vibe X2 and Huawei Honor 6. HTC recently launched another octa-core smartphone in India, the HTC Desire 526G+. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 10,400 for the 8GB storage variant and Rs. 11,400 for 16 GB storage variant.
This upgraded HTC Desire 816G is surely a best buy amongst big smartphones with great performance at a great price.
