After the launch of Honor View 10 last week, Huawei is ready for the launch of yet another Honor smartphone in India, the Honor 9 Lite. This is the second phone with a quad camera set-up, after the Honor 9i, that will be launched in India, soon. The phone which was earlier launched in the Chinese market came with a price tag of CNY 1,199 (Rs. 11,700 approx.) for the 3 GB RAM, 32 GB storage variant, while the 4 GB RAM, 32 GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,499 (Rs. 15,600 approx.) and the 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,799 (Rs. 17,500 approx.).
As far as India is concerned, Honor won’t be launching the 4 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage variant in our country. But for the rest of them, the prices can be expected to be approximately the same. In the announcement, it has been clearly mentioned that the Honor 9 Lite will be launched exclusively on Flipkart, with no dates or price tags revealed yet.
As per the page on Flipkart, following will be the specifications of the Honor 9 Lite in India. The smartphone will feature a 5.65-inch screen with Full HD+ 18:9 ratio display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. It will be powered by a 2.36 GHz Octa-Core Huawei Kirin 659 processor for computing and for graphics, it will be dependent on a Mali T830-MP2 GPU. On the software front, the Honor 9 Lite will run on Android 8.0 (Oreo) out of the box, with Huawei’s in-house EMUI 8.0. As mentioned earlier, as of now the phones are only going to be launched in two memory variants of 3 GB/ 32 GB and 4 GB/ 64 GB, configuration, respectively. The phone will also come with a microSD slot with which users can expand the phone’s memory up to 256 GB.
The Honor 9 Lite features the much talked about quad camera set-up, which includes a 13 MP + 2 MP camera set-up on the rear and as well as on the front side. The connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and Micro-USB with OTG support. Sensors on the device include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, magnetometer (digital compass), and proximity sensor.
For power consumption, the Honor 9 Lite is dependent upon a 3,000 mAh battery, which according to the claims of the manufacturer can last up to 20 hours of talk time on 3G, and a standby time of up to 576 hrs. Dimension wise the Honor 9 Lite measures 151 × 71.9 × 7.6 mm and weighs 149 grams. It comes with a glass protection on top of a metal unibody and will be available to consumers in Black, Blue, Grey and Black colors.
