The Honor 6X smartphone was launched in China in October last year. Today, the company has launched the smartphone for global markets. The dual-rear camera setup is the USP of the smartphone.
The Honor 6X sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) 2.5D curved glass IPS display. It is powered by Octa-core Kirin 655 (4 x 2.1GHz + 4 x 1.7GHz) 16nm processor, coupled with Mali T830-MP2. It comes in two variants 3GB LPDDR3 RAM with 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage, internal memory is expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card.
On the photography front, it houses dual rear cameras, comprising a 12-megapixel camera with LED Flash, 6P lens, 1.25um pixel size, PDAF and a 2-megapixel camera for achieving depth of field and background blur. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel camera. It runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with EMUI 4.1 on top.
This hybrid dual-sim smartphone houses a fingerprint sensor at the rear panel which unlocks the device in 0.3 seconds. It is backed by a 3340mAh battery with fast-charging support. On the connectivity part, it includes 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS. It measures 150.9×72.6×8.2mm and weighs 162g.
The Honor 6X comes in Gold, Silver, Grey, Blue and Rose Gold colour variants. The 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant is priced at US$ 249.99 (approx. Rs. 17,050) and the 4GB RAM + 64GB variant is priced at US$ 299.99 (approx. Rs. 20,460). However, the smartphone will be available for $199.99 (approx. Rs. 13,645) along with freebies (case, Engine earphones and a selfie stick) for first 300 buyers through flash sale on 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st January.
The 3GB variant will be available for purchase from 4th January onwards in select markets, including the US, the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Malaysia, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, with other markets to follow soon. Even though, India was mentioned on the presentation slide at the event, the release doesn’t mention India. It is expected to arrive in India in late-January. Stay tuned for more updates!
