Google Pixel XL 2 render leaked; could sport a 6-inch AMOLED display with narrow bezels and squeezable frame

Pixel XL 2

From quite a while, the next generation Google smartphones were into the talks of being up for manufacturing. The smartphone that created a bit more buzz was the Pixel XL 2. Recently it was reported that the next generation Pixel XL smartphone has been cancelled and been replaced by a bigger phone code-named ‘Taimen’. Falling inline, the latest leak of the Pixel XL 2 render suggest that the smartphone is indeed going to be bigger.

The render of alleged Google Pixel XL 2 smartphone has been posted by Android Police. As per the report, the smartphone will sport a 6-inch AMOLED display with 2:1 aspect ratio, minimal bezel and rounded corners. Although from the render its appears to be curved display but the report states it to be flat.

Coming towards the rear, it appears to be curved similar to the last year’s Pixel XL but with sharper corners. The fingerprint scanner this time around is placed below the glass window at the top which seems to have been reduced. A wide speaker grille can also be seen at the top but as far as the availability of the headphone jack is concerned it is still uncertain.

The highlight of the smartphone that the report mentions is that, it might come with a squeezable frame similar to that of HTC U11. The technology will allow the users to squeeze the Pixel XL 2 in their hands to interact with the Google Assistant or to operate the smartphone in different ways. This could as well be true as few days back patent samples from Google popped online which indicated that the future Pixel smartphone might come with touch sensitive rear panel and gesture sensitive area similar to the HTC U11.

The earlier version of Pixel XL 2 which is reportedly cancelled by Google was spotted on benchmarking portals. The listing showed that smartphone sports a 5.6-inches QHD (2560 x 1312 pixels) display and was powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage.
