Gionee has launched a new smartphone in its Steel series, dubbed as ‘Gionee Steel 2’ in China. It is a budget smartphone with fingerprint sensor, 4G VoLTE and a huge battery.
The Gionee Steel 2 sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display. Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor, coupled with Mali-T720 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It comes in 16GB/ 32GB of inbuilt storage options that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.
On the photography front, it has an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Amigo 3.5 UI on top. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the front.
The dual sim smartphone is backed by a huge 4000mAh battery that promises up to 45.45 hrs of talk time, up to 7.94 hrs of continuous video playback and up to 527.04 hrs of standby. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0 and GPS. It measures at 144.3×70.5×8.6mm and weighs in at 160g.
The Gionee Steel 2 comes in Gold and Black colors and starts at 1299 yuan (approx. Rs. 12,810). It is now available for order in China. However, there is no word about its Indian availability yet. Stay tuned for more updates!
