Gionee has launched another new smartphone Gionee M6S Plus under its ‘M series’ in China on Monday 24th April. The smartphone is essentially an upgraded version of its predecessor Gionee M6 Plus and comes with some impressive specifications. Although there aren’t any major differences but the M6S Plus has an ungraded RAM and internal storage.
Going towards the specifications, the Gionee M6S Plus sports a 6 inch Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) single-cell AMOLED display and has got a 1.95 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor. As mentioned earlier, the device comes with upgraded RAM of 6 GB where as its previous version topped a 4 GB RAM. The smartphone comes in two variants, one with 64 GB internal storage and other with 256 GB (M6 Plus came with 128 GB) internal storage with further expandability via microSD card. The Gionee M6S Plus runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Amigo 3.5 OS.
For imaging, the Gionee M6S Plus holds a 12 MP rear camera with Dual LED flash and an 8 MP camera up front for selfies. The device bears a massive 6,020 mAh battery to power it for long hours. For connectivity, there is 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB 2.0, USB OTG, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and GPS. The smartphone comes with a fingerprint scanner at the back along with all the regular on board sensors such as light sensor, gravity sensor, electronic compass, compass, gyro, and proximity sensor. The device measures 163.3×80.9×8.25 mm and weighs 215 grams.
As mentioned earlier, the Gionee M6S Plus is launched in two variants where the 64 GB variant is priced CNY 3,499 (Rs. 32,800 approx) and the 256 GB variant is priced at CNY 4,299 (Rs. 40,200 approx). The smartphone is already up for pre-bookings in China and will be available for sale from 2nd May. However, there are no words on its Indian availability yet.
