As scheduled, Gionee has launched its latest smartphone in M series, dubbed as ‘Gionee M2017’ at an event in China. It has a metal frame and a leather back.
The Gionee M2017 sports a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560 × 1440 pixels) AMOLED curved glass display with sapphire glass protection. It is powered by Octa-core Snapdragon 653 processor (Quad 1.95GHz ARM Cortex A72 + Quad 1.44GHz A53 CPUs), clubbed with Adreno 510 GPU and 6GB of RAM.
On the camera front, it packs 12MP + 13MP dual rear cameras with LED flash and an 8MP front-facing camera. It comes with massive 128GB or 256GB of inbuilt storage options and fingerprint sensor on the front. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Amigo OS 3.5 on top.
The USP of the Gionee M2017 is its huge 7000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. Connectivity options include 4GLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, USB OTG, USB 2.0 Type-C. It measures at 155.2×77.6×10.78mm and weighs at 238g.
The Gionee M2017 comes in Gold and Black colors. It is priced at 6,999 yuan (approx. Rs. 68,240) for the standard version, while the exclusive version with Italian custom alligator leather back costs whopping 16,999 yuan (approx. Rs. 1,65,740). It is now available for pre-order in China.
