Gionee A1 Review:
Gionee, with an intention to become more successful in India, has launched its new selfie focused smartphone Gionee A1. It comes in a beautiful sturdy metal unibody design complemented with a 2.5D curved glass on the front. It looks very beautiful and premium and is well built for its price. The Gionee A1 sports a 5.5 inches Full HD screen, the display is bright, sharp and has accurate colors. It runs on the 2.0 GHz Octa-core Mediatek Helio P10 processor coupled with 4 GB RAM. It delivers good performance for
day to day usage, multitasking and some gaming also but, isn’t very smooth with heavy games, also it heats up to a bit uncomfortable levels during heavy gaming. Being a camera centric smartphone, the Gionee A1 is strong in the camera department. It packs a 13 MP f/2.0 aperture Sony IMX 258 rear camera sensor which has good picture quality. The highlight of the phone is its 16 MP f/2.0 aperture front camera which is a great selfie shooter. It comes with a front LED flash for low light selfies. The camera app includes a good beautification mode and lots of filters and different modes which makes clicking selfies fun. The Gionee A1 is one of the best selfie shooter at this price. It runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat with company’s new Amigo 4.0 UI running on top, it is improved and feels good now. There are lots of features and customisation options in the Amiogo 4.0 UI.
The Gionee A1 packs a fast fingerprint scanner situated in the home button below the screen. It is a dual sim smartphone with 4G and VoLTE support. It comes with big 64 GB of onboard storage which is expandable upto 256 GB via microSD card but has got hybrid slot for it. It comes with a big non-removable Li-Ion 4010 mAh battery which delivers very good battery backup and also supports fast charging. AT 182 grams, it feels a little bulkier.
Overall, the Gionee A1 is a beautiful well designed smartphone with excellent selfie camera, good battery backup and good all round features. However, it is not for heavy gamers and at around 20000 Rs. it is a bit overpriced but, if you are a selfie addict and doesn’t play heavy games, the Gionee A1 can be a good choice for you for sue.
