More than half of 2017 has passed, it is the mid third quarter of the year now. While we saw a lot of intriguing smartphones in first half of 2017, there is still a lot in store for us with smartphones having distinctive features never sighted before hitting the shelves in coming days. The third quarter is always the most exciting one as major tech giants like Samsung and Apple bring in their flagships during this time of the year. That is what we expect to happen in the Q3 2017, especially in its mid month i.e August. So let’s have a look at the best upcoming smartphones in August 2017 one-by-one.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8:
Starting with the most awaited Galaxy Note 8, it is creating a lot of buzz with continuous flow of leaks and rumours just like any other flagship smartphone from Samsung. The company recently confirmed that the smartphone will be unveiled on 23rd August in New York, so there is not much time left for us to see what Samsung comes up with this time.
As mentioned earlier, the Galaxy Note 8 has been up with a lot of leaks and rumours previously, giving us a slight idea about the design and specifications of the smartphone. The smartphone is said to sport a bezel-less design similar to the Galaxy S8 and S8+ which Samsung calls as the Infinity display. Previous leaks also suggested that the smartphone will come with a horizontally aligned dual rear camera unit with a not so comfortably placed fingerprint scanner, which is beside the camera on the rear panel. The smartphone is expected to come with a heart rate sensor, an Iris scanner and a face recognition sensor as well.
Taking about other leaked specifications, the Galaxy Note 8 is speculated to sport a 6.3-inch display, most probably with QHD resolution and could be powered by a Snapdragon 835 or an Exynos SoC along with 6 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage. The dual rear camera setup will consist of a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens supporting dual photodiode and a 13-megapixel telephoto lens. The report also states that it will support 3X optical zoom, dual 6P lenses and dual OIS as well.
Lenovo K8 Note:
Next in the list is the upcoming K8 Note from Lenovo which, the company is teasing as the ‘Killer Note’. Lenovo has been putting up video teasers of the smartphone from quite a while and has recently confirmed that it will be launching on 9th August. The smartphone will come as a successor of the Lenovo K6 Note which was launched last year in December, so technically it should have been named K7 Note but the company seems to have skipped the 7 figure.
The Lenovo K8 Note was recently spotted on the benchmarking portal Geekbench, giving us a glimpse of its specifications. As per the listing, the smartphone will be powered by a 1.39 GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 chipset coupled with 4 GB of RAM. This could very well be true as the company has been emphasizing the high performance of the smartphone in the teasers. The smartphone looks to be running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. The K Note serious from Lenovo has been fairly popular in past and the hype that the company has created with K8 Note surely makes it one of the best upcoming smartphones in August.
