Amazon India has ended its return policy w.e.f February 7, so that now buyers cannot return their mobile phones to retailers. According to their new policy, buyers will be only eligible for getting the device replaced, that too only if the product is defective or was damaged during transit.
Amazon India has removed the ‘No longer needed’ option from its policy and buyers now will be no longer eligible for refunds. Due to its ‘No longer needed’ option in their old return policy, many buyers were seen misusing it by buying a new cell phone, and then returning it to company after a few days, even if it had no issues. This was becoming the problem for both Amazon and its Sellers, as both had to bear the additional costs.
According to Amazon India’s new return policy, “All Mobile phones that are fulfilled by Amazon, purchased on or after February 7, 2016, will have a replacement only policy. Mobile phone items that are fulfilled by Amazon will no longer be eligible for refunds. In case you have received a defective or a damaged mobile phone, you will be eligible for a free replacement.”
The replacement is available for a period of 10-days from delivery of the product. The new policy is exclusively applicable to smartphones only and does not apply other electronic products.
