Airtel launches three new 4G smartphones in partnership with Intex, starting at an effective price of Rs. 1,649

In a bid to make 4G communication more widespread among the masses, Bharti Airtel, in collaboration with Intex has announced the launch three new entry level phones. The new phone belong to Intex’s Aqua range of phones and are named as Aqua Lions N1, Aqua A4 and Aqua S3. These phones are launched under Airtel’s “Mera Pehla 4G Smartphone”, which is an initiative aimed to provide 4G smartphones at a very basic price to consumers, in order to realise the bigger agenda of Digital India.

All the three devices will be automatically subscribed to a Rs. 169 plan from Airtel, which will provide unlimited calling and 0.5 GB of 4G data per day for 28 days. In order to get your hands on an Intex Aqua Lions N1, you will have to make a down payment of Rs. 3,149, which is Rs. 3,499 in case of Aqua A4 and Rs. 5,879 for Intex Aqua S3. Once you have received your handset, all you have to do is to recharge the phone monthly, with an amount of Rs. 169 for the next 36 months. After the first 18 months you will become eligible to receive a cashback of Rs. 500 and another Rs. 1000 after 36 months. Which means the effective price of the smartphones will be Rs. 1,649, Rs. 1,999 and Rs. 4,379 for the Aqua Lions N1, Aqua A4 and Aqua S3 respectively.

However, the Rs. 169 plan is not mandatory, and you can select any other plan of your choice. But you have make sure that you recharge your phone for a minimum amount of Rs. 3000 during the first 18 months and another Rs. 3000 in the next 18 months to avail the cashback offers.

As far as the specifications of the phones are concerned, the Aqua Lions N1 features a 4 inch WVGA display which has a resolution of 480×800 pixels. This smartphone runs on 1.1 GHz quad-core MediaTek chipset. The Aqua Lions N1 features 1 GB RAM and a good internal storage of 8 GB, which can be expanded upto 128 GB using an microSD card. The Aqua Lions N1 also comes with a 2 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3 MP selfie camera. It is powered by a 1400 mAh battery.

Like the Aqua Lions N1, the Intex Aqua A4 also features a 4 inch WVGA screen, which has a similar resolution of 480×800 pixels. It’s supported by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Spreadtrum S9832A chipset. It also has 1 GB RAM and 8 GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 64 GB. The 4G smartphone has a 5 MP camera on the rear and a 2 MP sensor on the front. It is powered by a 1750 mAh battery.

The third phone in this range, the Intex Auqa S3 comes with an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and 2 MP front selfie camera also with LED flash. The Intex Aqua S3 is powered by a 2450 mAh battery. The Intex Aqua S3 comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display and is powered by 1.3 GHz quad core Spreadtrum SC9832A processor paired with 2 GB RAM. It is powered by a 2450 mAh battery.

All the three smartphones run on Android 7.0 (Nougat) and come with 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack and FM Radio support.
