YU has launched its first flagship smartphone the YU Yutopia. Starting with the design, the beautiful all-metal Yutopia is built with high-grade aluminium and feels really premium in hands, just 7.2 mm thickness and rounded edges add to the comfortable grip. The Saturn ring on the back looks good and houses the rear camera and flash, and overall the Yutopia scores good in design. It sports a 5.2 inches 2k display with whooping 565 ppi pixel density, the display quality is really very good. The Yutopia is powered by Quad Core 2.0 GHz Snapdragon 810 Processor coupled with 4 GB DDR4 RAM and Adreno 430 GPU. The phone is extremely powerful and handles all the heavy graphic intensive games pretty well and, when you play heavy games the phone just gets little warmer but it doesn’t heat much and you can comfortably play games for long durations. The Yutopia is also heavily loaded when it comes to camera. It features a 21 MP rear camera with Sony’s IMX230 sensor which is very powerful and is used by Sony in its premium phones. The rear camera comes with OIS, 4K Video Recording, PDAF, Slo-mo HD video at 120 FPS, 77.3° Wide Angle Lens and clicks really good pictures. On the front, it has 8 MP selfie shooter which comes with f/2.2 aperture, 86° wide angle and clicks beautiful selfies. The Yutopia also packs a fingerprint scanner on the back which allows you to unlock the phone even when the screen is off, you can also take selfies by tapping the fingerprint scanner. The phone runs on Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android v5.1.1 Lollipop and will soon get the Marshmallow update. YU has also included its new ‘Around YU’ app in the phone which allows you to book flights, cabs, buses & hotels, order food and much more from the home screen. It is a Dual Sim smartphone and supports 4G on both the slots. The Yutopia packs 32 GB internal storage and is expandable upto 128 GB but, it has hybrid slot so, you can use 2 sim cards or a sim and a microSD card at a time. It is backed by a 3000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 support but, with powerful processor and display you shouldn’t expect a great battery life from it, it will just last for a day with normal usage. The phone also comes with good quality House Of Marley in-ear headphones for free. Overall, the YU Yutopia comes with great performance, display and cameras and brings in all the features of a flagship smartphone. It still isn’t a perfect smartphone but, the price at which the company is offering the phone makes it a really great deal.

[section label=”3. Google Nexus 5X”]
3. LG Google Nexus 5X (16 GB):
Google has just refreshed its two years old and very popular Nexus 5 with the Nexus 5X. The new Nexus 5X brings in lots of new features and improvements over its predecessor. Starting with the design, it carries forwards the design language of the Nexus 5 and rather than looking muscular, it looks cute! The phone is built with plastic and has soft touch finish on the back which gives a good grip and feels good in hands. Summing up, the design and build quality is good but lot better options are available at the same price. It comes with a 5.2 inches Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display with 423 ppi pixel density, protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The display of the phone is very good. The Nexus 5X is powered by a 1.8 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Hexa Core Processor coupled with 2 GB RAM and delivers excellent performance. It runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow and being a Nexus device, it will be one of the few phones in the world to get the future Android updates for years. The Nexus 5X runs on the stock and purest form of Android which means there are no additional layers of UI & extra services downgrading performance and making your device slow. The Nexus 5X features a strong 12.3 MP rear camera with 1.55μm pixels, f/2.0 Aperture, 4K video recording, dual-LED flash & Laser Assisted Autofocus and clicks very good images. The 5 MP front cameras is decent too. The phone comes with a fingerprint scanner situated on the rear side just below the camera, it is fast and easy to use. It also comes with USB Type-C port for faster data transfer and quick charging. Sadly, it is a single sim device. The Nexus 5X comes with 16 GB and 32 GB internal storage options and again for a disappointment misses out on microSD slot. It is backed by a Non-removable 2700 mAh battery which gives average performance but the quick charging feature is upto the mark and charges the phone quickly. Overall, the Google Nexus 5X is a powerful future proof phone excelling in most departments and delivering great Android experience but, lack of expandable storage and dual sim might be deal breaker for many but, if you are okay with it, it is a great device to have in your pockets, Really! If you are a fan of bigger screens, the Motorola Nexus 6 with 6 inches 2k display is available at Rs. 24,999, it can be a good choice too.
[section label=”4. Samsung Galaxy A8″]
4. Samsung Galaxy A8:
At 5.9 mm, it’s the slimmest phone from Samsung! It’s not only slim but it’s a full metal body stunningly beautiful smartphone. The Galaxy A8 has got a great build quality, a feat with which Samsung’s phone are not quite familiar! Although, it has got a plastic back panel, it’s good in quality and gives a good feel with the matte finish. The phone has got very slim bezels on the sides of a large 5.7 inches Full HD Super AMOLED display which has excellent quality. It is powered by 1.8 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Processor, well at this price, you would for-sure expect a better processor than this but coupled with 2 GB RAM, it still delivers decent performance. Though for gaming and heavy multitasking, there are much better options at this price. Cameras have been the strength of Samsung for years and the 16 & 5 MP cameras of the Galaxy A8 belong to the same league. Both the cameras come with a f/1.9 aperture and capture excellent images. The front camera comes with Wide Selfie function which gives you a 120° view so, you can capture good group selfies. Samsung has also added Quick Camera Launch function to the Galaxy A8 which allows you to open the camera app in just 0.9 seconds by double pressing the home button. Another advantage with the phone is its Fingerprint sensor mounted into the home button. So, you just have to place your finger on the home key and your phone unlocks. It runs on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based Samsung’s TouchWiz skin. It supports dual sim, 4G and comes with 32 GB of internal storage which is expandable upto 128 GB with the help of a microSD card but, it will use a sim slot. It houses a Li-Ion 3050 mAh battery which gives a good battery backup to the phone. Overall, it’s not the best performer but if you look at the premium slim design, good display and excellent cameras, the Galaxy A8 is a great package with the best after sales support so, if you are not after heavy usage it can be a great buy.
