[section label=”1. Moto X Style”]

1. Moto X Style:

Motorola is having a great run in the Indian market from last year, all of its phone have been hit since its comeback in India and the same is bound to happen with the new Moto X Style. Its name includes ‘Style’ so let’s talk about the design first. The Moto X Style comes metallic sides and premium back covers which are available in different colors and textures like other Moto phones. The back of the phone is curved due to which it fits in perfectly in hands however it comes with a pretty large 5.7 inches screen but, Motorola has really reduced on the size of bezels around the screen so despite the bigger screen it feels as big as a 5.5 inches phone. To finish with design, the phone looks similar to other Moto phones like the Moto X (2nd Gen) and the Moto Nexus 6 but, if you spare that, it is indeed beautiful. The 5.7 inches screen has a 2k (1440 x 2560 pixels) resolution with a great 520 ppi pixel density, the display quality is amazing. It is powered by the popular flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Hexa Core Processor clocked at 1.8 GHz and paired with 3 GB RAM and delivers great performance. It comes with a 21 MP rear camera which is by far the best rear camera seen on any Moto phone till now, it features f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detect Auto-Focus (PDAF), Dual Color Correlated Temperature (CCT) flash, 4X digital zoom, Video Stabilization and 4K video recording at 30fps. The 5 MP front camera comes with f/2.0 aperture, Wide-Angle lens and a front flash, it is also good in picture quality. The phone runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box with Stock Android UI and will be soon upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is a Dual Sim 4G enabled smartphone and comes with 16 GB and 32 GB internal storage options and is also expandable upto 128 GB. The Moto X Style is backed by a non-removable 3000 mAh battery but, the Quad HD display needs much more power and the phone disappoints a little in battery life, it can still run throughout the day with medium usage. But it comes with really fast Turbo Charging feature which the company says can charge the phone for use upto 8 hours in just 15 min of charging! The dual front speakers on the phone have rich & loud sound quality. Overall, the Moto X Style is a powerful well designed phone with good cameras and Stock Android UI which will be upgradable for years, a great package with great user experience! If you want an even bigger phone, you can also go with the 6 inches Google Motorola Nexus 6.

[section label=”3. Samsung Galaxy A8″]

3. Samsung Galaxy A8:

At 5.9 mm, it’s the slimmest phone from Samsung! It’s not only slim but it’s a full metal body stunningly beautiful smartphone. The Galaxy A8 has got a great build quality, a feat with which Samsung’s phone are not quite familiar! Although, it has got a plastic back panel, it’s good in quality and gives a good feel with the matte finish. The phone has got very slim bezels on the sides of a large 5.7 inches Full HD Super AMOLED display which has excellent quality. It is powered by 1.8 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Processor, well at this price, you would for-sure except a better processor than this but coupled with 2 GB RAM, it still delivers decent performance. Though for gaming and heavy multitasking, there are much better options at this price. Cameras have been the strength of Samsung for years and the 16 & 5 MP cameras of the Galaxy A8 belong to the same league. Both the cameras come with a f/1.9 aperture and capture excellent images. The front camera comes with Wide Selfie function which gives you a 120° view so, you can capture good group selfies. Samsung has also added Quick Camera Launch function to the Galaxy A8 which allows you to open the camera app in just 0.9 seconds by double pressing the home button. Another advantage with the phone is its Fingerprint sensor mounted into the home button. So, you just have to place your finger on the home key and your phone unlocks. It runs on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based Samsung’s TouchWiz skin. It supports dual sim, 4G and comes with 32 GB of internal storage which is expandable upto 128 GB with the help of a microSD card but, it will use a sim slot. It houses a Li-Ion 3050 mAh battery which gives a good battery backup to the phone. Overall, it’s not the best performer but if you look at the premium slim design, good display and excellent cameras, the Galaxy A8 is a great package with the best after sales support so, if you are not after heavy usage it can be a great buy.

Whether its gaming or multimedia, it can handle everything smoothly. • hey,i m quite a rough user..so i need a phone with tough body ,i need a good camera- front n rear ,good gaming compatibility, fast processor.....my budget is between 20000 to 25000 .which smartphone should i opt for........i have already experienced windows phone.so apart from that u can suggest any phone...i know its difficult to get all d features in a phone in this range...but still if can find any, please suggest me.

  • Hey,
I liked your work but can you tell me the best phone in the market now.Because i want to buy a new phone but i am confused because i will use the phone for a long time and want the best phone.basically i am thing of iphone 6s .

  • Dear Rahul, this site is an amazing idea from you. Your reviews are very good. I am a person who usually criticise review writing. In that context, if I were to say, for Moto X Style you have written all those good reviews, but in your verdict, the name of the phone is Moto X Play. Please correct it. I was a person who admired the Moto X Style as the best ever phone. But from your reviews, HTC one E9 also seems good. Let me stroll through that once. One more thing, it is high time that the world should stop using Samsung and turn to HTC or Motorola or other Indian branded phones. I have used Samsung for 1.5 years now and I opine that's the worst phone ever.

    • Hello Anish,

Happy to know you liked the site and reviews :-) . About Samsung, I agree with what you have said, but in the last one year they have improved really well, their current generation flagships are really good but they need to do much more in budget phones, the competition is far ahead.

Also, I have corrected the mistake, thanks for the feedback.
