Xiaomi Redmi 3S”] [label variation=”label-danger”]Newly Launched[/label]

1. Xiaomi Redmi 3S:

After the grand success of the Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi has launched another phone which is bound to be a hit, the Xiaomi Redmi 3S. Starting with its design, the Redmi Note 3 packs a metal body which looks decent and feels sturdy, it looks very similar to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. If you consider the design and build quality for a 7000 Rs. phone it is very good for its price. It sports a 5.0 inches HD IPS display which has good colors and viewing angles and it is a good display overall, although it is bit reflective under direct sunlight. The Redmi 3s is powered by a 1.4 GHz Octa Core Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 2 GB of RAM and Adreno 505 GPU. It delivers very good performance and most of the graphics intensive games are playable without much lagging however, you should not compare it with more advanced processors available in costlier phones. The phone runs on the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Xiaomi’s latest MIUI 8 running on top. The MIUI 8 is very beautiful and fast and comes with lots of useful features like the ‘Dual Apps’, ‘Second Space’, etc. (more details about the MIUI 8 here). When it comes to the camera department, the Redmi 3s packs a 13 MP rear and a 5 MP front camera. The rear camera comes with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture lens, LED Flash and supports 1080p video recording, it clicks decent images with good depth although, the camera quality is not the best but it is acceptable at this price, same is the case with the front camera which comes with f/2.2 aperture lens and 1080p video recording support. It is a dual sim phone with 4G support. It packs 16 GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128 GB via a microSD card but uses a hybrid slot so you can either use the second sim or the microSD card at a time. Greatest thing about the Redmi 3S is its battery life. It packs a huge non-removable Li-Ion 4100 mAh battery which gives 2 days of battery backup easily, it also supports fast charging. And despite this big battery, it only weighs at 144 grams and has a thickness of 8.5 mm. Overall, the Xiaomi Redmi 3S is a great phone. It packs good design and performance, good latest software, decent cameras and a great battery life and the best of them all, it still maintains a compact form factor which is good for one handed usage. It is undoubtedly the best phone under 7000 Rs in India currently. Xiaomi has also launched the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime which has similar specs and design of the Redmi 3S except it has 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage and it also packs a fast fingerprint scanner. It is priced at Rs. 8,999 and will be a good choice if you can increase your budget.

The phone runs on 1.3 GHz 64-bit Mediatek MT6735 Quad-Core Processor coupled with 3 GB RAM, which is the highest RAM you can get in a phone under 7000 Rs. The performance of the phone is good and it handles gaming well. The Coolpad Note 3 Lite sports a 13 MP rear camera which has good depth but the colors look little washed out. It has a 5 MP front facing camera which produces decent selfies. It runs on Android v5.1 Lollipop with company’s highly customised COOLUI 6.0 skin running on top. It is a dual sim smartphone supporting 4G on both the sims. It has got 16 GB internal storage which is expandable upto 32 GB. The phone is backed by a non-removable Li-Ion 2500 mAh battery which gives a battery life of around one day with normal usage. Overall, the Coolpad Note 3 Lite comes with unmatched specs and features at this price. It is specially good in performance and the fingerprint scanner, at the same time, phones with better UI, camera and design are also available at this price but, if you look at the complete package it is a great value for money phone and a great buy. For selfie lovers, Coolpad has launched its selfie focused smartphone Coolpad Mega 2.5D with 8MP front camera, latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow and 2.5D curved glass.

[section label=”3. Lenovo Vibe P1m”]

3. Lenovo Vibe P1M:

In the highly competitive budget segment in India, Lenovo has established itself quite well. After launching so many hit phones they launched the Lenovo Vibe P1M which again proved successful. It packs a decent looking design and a sturdy build quality. It sports a 5 inches HD screen which has good colors and viewing angles and the display is quite good for its price. It runs on the 1 GHz MediaTek MT6735P Quad Core Processor paired with 2 GB RAM and delivers good performance and handles games well also. It can lag a little sometimes but it does a pretty good job, also there is no heating issue. The Vibe P1m has an 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera, the picture quality of both the cameras is average and there are better camera phones at this price. It runs on Lenovo’s Vibe UI based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It is a dual sim phone supporting 4G on both the slots. It packs 16 GB internal storage which is expandable upto 32 GB via miroSD card. Now let’s talk about the best part of the phone – the big 3900 mAh battery which gives a great battery backup and can last for 2 days with mixed usage and if you have low usage, it can last for few more days. [section label=”5. Yu Yuphoria”]

5. Micromax Yu Yuphoria:

The competition is the fiercest now! And as the result of the competition just see what we are getting now at this low price. With the Yuphoria, Micromax has tried to put everything we would want in a phone – A great design with metal frame, good build quality, good software, a very good performance, good cameras and a decent battery life. Well in no manner I am overstating about the phone. Micromax has actually stuffed the phone too much at a very low price. It runs on a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Processor coupled with 2 GB RAM. The 5 inches HD display of the phone is good and comes protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has a good 8 MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture lens which means it allows the sensor to capture more light and increases the DOF (Depth of Field), in short it takes pictures with good quality. The 5 MP front camera with 4p lens & 85 degree wide-angle lens allows you to capture great selfies with more people in it. The Yuphoria is also great in storage with its 16 GB internal and a upto 32 GB expandable storage. It also offers 4G and dual sim support. When it comes to design the phone looks and feels great. It has metallic edges which adds a great value to the feel of phone, the big circular camera module at the back also looks good. The 2230 mAh battery doesn’t promise a huge battery life but it’s good. If we talk about the downsides, the phone faced minor software issues, many of them have been fixed and few bugs will be fixed in the upcoming updates, well there is nothing to scare the phone is very good. Overall, the Yu Yuphoria is a complete package, it offers good performance, good design and is another good phone you can get at this price. The newly launched Micromax Canvas Unite 4 Pro which comes with fingerprint scanner, a big 3900 mAh battery and various regional languages support can be a good alternative but, it is not a perfect phone and there are some issues with it. If you can increase your budget a little, you can also go with the Micromax Canvas Knight 2 priced around Rs. 7,999. The new Micromax Canvas Amaze 2 can also be a good choice.
