We see a phone as a complete package which should at the end deliver great satisfaction to the user and our rankings are based on the same principles. We consider hundreds of phones, from biggest to the smallest brands and come with our honest rankings every month.[/jumbotron] [section label=”1. Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime”]

1. Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime:

The newly launched Redmi 2 Prime is an upgraded version of the popular Redmi 2, it is also the company’s first “Made in India” smartphone. Coming to the upgrades, the Redmi 2 Prime comes with 2 GB of RAM which is just doubled from the Redmi 2, the internal storage is also doubled and now it offers 16 GB of internal memory. Rest all the specifications are same. It features a 4.7 inches HD display and is powered by the 64-bit 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor. It runs on the MIUI 6.0 skin based on Android v4.4.4 (KitKat) which will be soon upgradable to the recently launched MIUI 7 which comes with added features, it gives you a completely different and enhanced android experience. The performance of the phone is good, it’s fast and smooth. It boasts of a good 8 MP rear camera and a 2 MP Selfie camera, which are capable of clicking sharp and high-quality images, it’s one of the best camera phone at this price. The 16 GB of internal storage can be expanded via Micro SD card up to 32 GB. The Redmi 2 Prime also supports USB On The Go (UOTG) which will allow users to connect other USB peripherals like keyboard, game-pad, etc, which is quite interesting. It has a 2200 mAh battery which gives a decent battery life. Overall, it is a very good phone and gives a good balanced user experience, and it is definitely the best smartphone under 7000 Rs if 5 inches screen isn’t a must for you.

2. Micromax Yu Yuphoria:

The competition is the fiercest now! And as the result of the competition just see what we are getting now at this low price. With the Yuphoria, Micromax has tried to put everything we would want in a phone – A great design with metal frame, good build quality, good software in the form of Cyanogen 12 OS (Note: now Yu has also launched a Stock Android version of the Yuphoria), a very good performance, good cameras and a decent battery life. Well in no manner I am overstating about the phone. Micromax has actually stuffed the phone too much at a very low price. It runs on a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Processor coupled with 2 GB RAM. The 5 inches HD display of the phone is good and comes protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has a good 8 MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture lens which means it allows the sensor to capture more light and increases the DOF (Depth of Field), in short it takes pictures with good quality. The 5 MP front camera with 4p lens & 85 degree wide-angle lens allows you to capture great selfies with more people in it. The Yuphoria is also great in storage with its 16 GB internal and a upto 32 GB expandable storage. It also offers 4G and dual sim support. When it comes to design the phone looks and feels great. It has metallic edges which adds a great value to the feel of phone, the big circular camera module at the back also looks good. The 2230 mAh battery doesn’t promise a huge battery life but it’s good. If we talk about the downsides, the phone faced minor software issues, many of them have been fixed and few bugs will be fixed in the upcoming updates, well there is nothing to scare the phone is very good. Overall, the phone is a complete package, it offers good performance, best design and is a great phone you can get at this price. If you are a little low on budget, you can also go with the Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 with 13 MP camera at Rs. 5,999, it can be an excellent choice as well. Also, the Micromax Canvas Nitro A311 is available at 7,999 Rs.

3. Lenovo A6000 Plus:

Lenovo with the A6000 Plus again played a master-stroke in the 7000 Rs. price range, first it launched the Lenovo A6000 which was the cheapest 4G smartphone in India and later they launched the A6000 Plus with 2 GB RAM, when no other big brand was offering 2 GB RAM phone at this price. It was built to kill the competition! Before we come to the actual specifications, let’s talk about the design of the phone. The design is pretty simple & there are no fancy stuffs! But yes it looks decent and is sturdy. It is powered by a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Processor which is quite popular and delivers decent performance. It has got 2 GB RAM which makes sure the device runs smooth and lag free. The 5 inches HD screen is decent at this price. It has got an 8 MP rear camera which is pretty good, it has also got a 2 MP front camera and LED Flash. The A6000 Plus has got the internal storage increased to 16 GB from the 8 GB internal storage in A6000, it is also expandable upto 32 GB. The 2300 mAh battery of the phone is removable and gives enough battery backup. It runs on Lenovo’s Vibe UI based on top of Android 4.4 Kitkat. Lenovo also promises good sound quality with the Twin Dolby speakers which offer enhanced volume and crisp sound, the company says. Overall it is a very good phone at this price and offers a great compelling package too. If battery life is the most important for you, you can also go with the Lenovo A5000 which offers massive 4,000 mAh battery and is decent on other specs also.

[section label=”4. Moto E (2nd Gen)”]

4. Moto E (2nd Gen) (4G):

After the grand success of the massively popular Moto E, Motorola has launched the successor of it – The Moto E (2nd Gen) which is now more powerful. The Moto E (2nd Gen) sports a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor which is coupled with 1 GB RAM. It has 8 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB via Micro SD Card. It features a 5 MP rear camera with auto focus and a 0.3 MP front camera which was missing in the 1st Gen Moto E but, it still lacks the LED flash. One thing is clear this phone is not meant for camera lovers. It runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and will continue to get the future Android updates which is a great deal. It also features a 2,390 mAh battery which is bigger and better than the previous Moto E, it can easily last for a day. It also has the water-repellent and anti-smudge coatings. This phone doesn’t offer you the best of the specifications at this price but, it does offer a great user experience. It has got a solid build quality and beautiful design, the UI is stock Android and is great, the phone is fast enough and the battery life is very good. Overall, it is not for power users or camera lovers, but if you want a decent phone for everyday normal usage, this can be a very good choice.

5. InFocus M350:

The American company InFocus has recently launched the M350 in India. The phone on the first look doesn’t look like any thing great, its design from the outside as well as its UI inside look like a thing of past, they are dull and old but, the build quality is good. It runs on 1.5 GHz Quad Core MediaTek MT6732 Processor coupled with 2 GB RAM and the performance is decent. It has a 5 inches HD screen with good display quality and good viewing angles. It has an 8 MP rear camera which has decent quality but the USP of the phone is its 8 MP front camera with good quality. It has 16 GB internal storage which is expandable upto 64 GB. The 2500 mAh battery provides decent battery life. Overall, it’s a good phone but, apart from the front camera, it has nothing special that you should go for, especially when there are awesome phones like the Yuphoria & the Redmi 2 Prime already present at the same price. So, it will be better to go with the above 4 phones in this list.
