1. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 (16GB):
After a long wait, Xiaomi has finally launched the Redmi Note 3 in India. The phone has been highly successful in China and with all the features it packs, the same success story seems to repeat in India as well. Starting with the design, the Redmi Note 3 boasts a premium metallic design and excellent build quality, it feels great and looks beautiful, while the curved edges on the back gives it a good grip as well. The phone has a 5.5 inches Full HD display with 401 ppi pixel density and has very good display quality but, it doesn’t come with Gorilla Glass screen protection. The Redmi Note 3 is powered by the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 Processor which has 6 cores, out of which four are 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 and the rest two are 1.8 GHz Cortex-A72 CPU’s which handle the heavy usage. The Redmi Note 3 is the world’s first phone to come with Snapdragon 650 processor, which is very powerful and delivers performance better than many flagship processors, it also doesn’t heat up much as well. The phone comes in two variants, one has 16 GB storage + 2 GB RAM and the other has 32 GB storage + 3 GB RAM (priced at Rs. 11,999). It is equipped with a 16 MP rear camera which comes with PDAF and Dual-Tone LED Flash and clicks very good quality images. On the front, it has a 5 MP shooter which too is capable of clicking good quality selfies. Another highlight of the Redmi Note 3 is its fast fingerprint scanner which can unlock the phone in just 0.3 seconds, the phone also includes Infrared Blaster which allows you to control your TV, AC, music system and many other electronic appliances. The phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Xiaomi’s beautiful MIUI 7 running on top. It is a dual sim phone with 4G and VoLTE support, it allows storage expansion and supports microSD cards upto 128 GB but, it has hybrid slot so at a time, you can either use the second sim or the microSD card. It is backed by a big 4050 mAh battery which gives a pretty good battery life, easily lasting for a day or even more. Also, despite a big battery and metal build, the phone weighs 164 grams and has a thickness of 8.65mm so, you get all the features without the added bulkiness. Overall, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 delivers flagship like performance, a good looking premium design and packs all the excellent features at a very good price, it is really a great buy and is undoubtedly the best phone under 10000 Rs. in India.

[section label=”4. Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime”]
4. Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime:
After the grand success of the Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi has launched another phone which is bound to be a hit in the budget segment – the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime, which includes a smaller 5 inches screen than the 5.5 inches screen of the Redmi Note 3. If we talk about the design, the Redmi 3S Prime packs a metal body which looks decent and feels sturdy, it looks very similar to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. The design and build quality is very good for its price. The 5.0 inches HD IPS display has good colors and viewing angles and it is a good display overall, although it is bit reflective under direct sunlight. The Redmi 3S Prime is powered by a 1.4 GHz Octa Core Snapdragon 430 processor paired with 3 GB of RAM and Adreno 505 GPU. It delivers very good performance and most of the graphics intensive games are playable without much lagging however, you should not compare it with more advanced processors available in costlier phones like the Redmi Note 3. The phone runs on the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Xiaomi’s latest MIUI 8 running on top. The MIUI 8 is very beautiful and fast and comes with lots of useful features like the ‘Dual Apps’, ‘Second Space’, etc. (more details about the MIUI 8 here). When it comes to the camera department, the Redmi 3S Prime packs a 13 MP rear and a 5 MP front camera. The rear camera comes with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture lens, LED Flash and supports 1080p video recording, it clicks decent images with good depth although, the camera quality is not the best but it is acceptable, same is the case with the front camera which comes with f/2.2 aperture lens and 1080p video recording support. It packs a good, fast and accurate fingerprint scanner at the back which can be used to protect/lock apps apart from unlocking the phone. It is a dual sim phone with 4G support. It packs 32 GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128 GB via a microSD card but uses a hybrid slot so you can either use the second sim or the microSD card at a time. Greatest thing about the Redmi 3S Prime is its battery life. It packs a huge non-removable Li-Ion 4100 mAh battery which gives 2 days of battery backup easily, it also supports fast charging. And despite this big battery, it only weighs at 144 grams and has a thickness of 8.5 mm. Overall, the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime is a great phone. It packs good design and performance, good features, latest & feature-rich software, decent cameras and a great battery life and the best of them all, it still maintains a compact form factor which is good for one-handed usage. So, if you are looking for a smaller 5-inches phone, then the Redmi 3S Prime is the best phone under 10000 Rs.

[section label=”5. Coolpad Note 5″] [label variation=”label-danger”]Newly Launched[/label]
5. Coolpad Note 5:
Coolpad has launched its new budget smartphone Coolpad Note 5 in India. Unlike its predecessor Coolpad Note 3 Plus, it packs a full metal body which looks and feels good and the 2.5D curved glass on the front also adds to the beauty and comfort. It packs a 5.5 inches Full HD display with decent color output and good viewing angles. It runs on the bit older 1.5 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 Processor coupled with 4 GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU. At the current time, any new phone launching in the budget segment has to take the bar higher but, the Coolpad Note 5 while competing directly with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 or the LeEco Le 2 brings a weaker processor. The performance isn’t poor although, the Snapdragon 617 can also handle heavy usage and heavy gaming to some extent but, phones with much better performance are already available around the same price. It packs a 13 MP rear camera with 5P lens and f/2.2 aperture and has a little better than average quality. The 8 MP front camera which comes with auto beautification mode is very good. The phone runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow with company’s own CoolUI 8.0, which now looks like the iOS even more. Coolpad has introduced the new Dual Apps feature in the CoolUI, which lets you access two instances of a same app in one phone, that means you can install two Whatsapp, two Messenger, two Facebook, etc. in the Coolpad Note 5. The fingerprint sensor included on the back is fast and accurate. You can also use the fingerprint scanner to protect the installed apps on the phone with the help of built-in app “FP lock” and can use the fingerprint scanner to unlock them. It is a dual sim smartphone supporting 4G on both the slots. It has got 32 GB internal storage which is expandable upto 64 GB but has hybrid slot. A great thing about the phone is, it comes with a big non-removable Li-Ion 4010 mAh battery which delivers very good battery backup. Overall, the Coolpad Note 5 comes with all the features, good design, decent performance and cameras and a good battery life. It is a balanced phone in most departments but, still it is not a very good buying choice because, it is not offering anything different or exciting. Most of its competitors in this price segment are offering all these features with a little better package. If you want to save some money, you can also go with the older Coolpad Note 3 Plus at Rs. 8,999.

Hello rahul,
First of all thank you for the presenting such a great and honest site for the best phones in their respective range.
I am thinking to buy moto g4 plus (3gb) should i buy it now or wait for moto g5? I really am not in a hurry to buy a phone but waiting for it will be worth or should i go for moto g4 plus only?
Hi, Thanks for your nice words :)
Actually you should go with the Moto G4 Plus as the launch of Moto G5 is a little away and at that time also there will be some or the other phone which would be worth waiting so, it's better you go with the currently available options. And by the way the Moto G4 Plus is a very good phone to go for if you are not a very heavy user.
