1. Micromax Yu Yureka Plus:

Earlier the Yu Yureka had completely revolutionized the 10,000 Rs segment and now Micromax has made it even better by launching the Yureka Plus which comes with Full HD display. A year earlier you wouldn’t have got the phone with this specs and quality even at 25,000 Rs. So, let’s take a look at the phone. The Yureka Plus has got a very sturdy design. It is powered by a 64-bit Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor which is powerful but it heated badly in the Yureka, now with software updates and optimizations this issue is less. It has got 2 GB RAM, which makes the phone capable of handling heavy gaming and multi-tasking very smoothly. It runs on the CyanogenMod 12 OS, which gives you tons of extra features & capabilities. It has got a pretty large 5.5 inches screen which is even protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Full HD screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution offers the pixel density of 401 ppi. Another important thing is that it has got great picture quality with the 13 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras. It is good on storage also, it comes with 16 GB internal memory (12.5 GB user accessible) which can be expanded upto 32 GB. With the 2500 mAH Li-ion battery the phone provides decent battery life. The phone now comes in two colors, moondust grey and alabaster white. Overall, with good specs, great camera, excellent build quality, lots of customization options and good gaming experience, it is undoubtedly a great phone to buy under 10,000 Rs and the Cyanogen 12 OS gives it a lead over the similarly specced Lenovo K3 Note, making it the best phone under 10,000 Rs. If you want a 5 inches phone with all these features, go with the Yu Yuphoria.

2. Lenovo K3 Note:

This is the game changer!!! The 10,000 Rs. segment offered phones with Octa core processor, 2 GB RAM, 5.5 inches screen with decent HD display, 2500 mAh + batteries and all and these specs were still considered good at this price point. But looks like Lenovo is determined to introduce great technologies at breakthrough prices. Earlier it launched the cheapest 4G smartphone and recently it launched the K3 Note which was the first phone to come with FHD display under 10,000 Rs, it certainly raised the bar high but, now it has got the rival Yureka Plus with FHD screen at the same price. Talking about the display, it is awesome with good viewing angles and offers great 401 ppi pixel density! When it comes to performance, the K3 Note runs on 64-bit Octa-core 1.7 GHz Mediatek MT6752 Processor coupled with 2 GB RAM which offers very good performance and can handle every task smoothly. If we talk about the design, the phone has good build quality but a simple design. The phone packs a 13 MP rear and 5 MP front camera and the picture quality of both the cameras is decent. The phone runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop with Lenovo’s customized skin running on top of it. It is great on storage with 16 GB internal and 32 expandable memory options. The K3 Note supports dual-sim and 4G. And when it comes to the most important aspect – the battery life, the K3 Note with its 2900 mAh battery offers a great battery life, which is better than the Yureka Plus. So, if you are more concerned about the battery, go with this instead of the Yureka Plus. Overall, the phone is the game changer and offers a complete great package at this price. If you want even better battery life the Lenovo A5000 with 4000 mAh battery can also be a good choice at this budget, the Lenovo A7000 also packs decent features.

3. Motorola Moto G (2nd Gen):

Most brands and phones in this range are running behind specs but there is one company which is still offering great value – It is Motorola whose phones don’t boast great specs but on the contrary deliver a great user experience and satisfaction. The Moto G (2nd Gen) has got a 3,000 Rs. price cut and it still offers some great values in the crowd of smartphones with great specs. It sports a 5-inch HD display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Quad-Core processor and 1 GB RAM. It comes with water-resistant nano coating and supports Dual Sim. The phone runs on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat out of the box which is now upgradable to Android v5.0 Lollipop. Not to forget that it has the stock Android UI which delivers the pure Android experience. With the Moto G you can always get the future Android updates faster than the flagship phones. It has a 8 MP rear camera and 2 MP front camera. Well the camera quality can’t match many phones in this list but it’s still decent. It has 16 GB internal & 32 GB expandable storage. It has excellent build quality and very smooth & lag-free performance. Another advantage to buy the Moto G is that, it is a very popular phone globally and it is always there in the news so, it will always get the attention of the developers and the company. Overall, if you are a person who likes quality over quantity then this is the one, it may not have the strongest specs but, it has a good balance of everything and it gives a great user experience. Also, if you like the Moto G (2nd Gen), it will be a good idea to increase your budget by 3,000 Rs. and go with the latest Moto G (3rd Gen) with 2GB RAM, 13+5 megapixel cameras, 2470 mAh battery, & it is also water-resistant.

4. Huawei Honor 4X:

Huawei (no. 2 in China) is now a more serious player in the Indian smartphone market. It has launched very exciting phones in many ranges. And the most recent is the Honor 4X which is launched at 10,000 Rs. The phone packs very exciting specifications. It runs on the 64-bit Quad Core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 Processor coupled with 2 GB RAM, which gives good performance and handles most of the tasks effectively. Still, if you need a phone for gaming, it will be good to go with the Yureka Plus or the K3 Note. It has the 5.5 inches screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, it is not great but its acceptable considering the overall features at this price. The design of the phone is simple but it feels good, the textured back panel of the phone gives a very good grip. It has got 13 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras and both the cameras are good. The USP of the phone is that it has Dual Sim and both the Sim can support 4G LTE. It has got 8 GB internal storage which is expandable upto 32 GB. It sports a 3000 mAh battery which delivers very good battery backup. Overall, it is a very good phone and can be another good choice at this price. Huawei has launched another variant of the Honor 4X known as Honor 4C which comes with Octa Core processor, it can also be a good choice if you want a 5 inches phone.

5. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G:

Price cut!!! The Redmi Note has got a whooping 2,000 Rs. price cut and now it’s available at 7,999 Rs. The Redmi Note is the 5th good phone in this range which comes with 5.5 inches screen and 2 GB RAM. This was the 3rd launch of Xiaomi in the Indian Smartphone market and it is yet again a successful Xiaomi smartphone (A legal ban on Xiaomi in India has forced to stop the sale of the Octa Core version of Redmi Note but the 4G Variant of this phone is still available, so here we are considering the Redmi Note 4G). It runs on the Quad Core 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Processor and 2 GB of RAM which delivers pretty good and fast performance. It sports a big 5.5 inches screen with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and 267 ppi pixel density, well it’s not great but its good for 10000 Rs. It has got big numbers for the cameras. It features a 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera, the camera quality is very good, one of the best at this price. The 3100 mAh battery gives a very good battery backup to the phone. The phone weighs 199 grams and is surely on the heavier side but it packs big screen and big battery so its justified. Overall, it offers pretty balanced equations with good performance, decent build quality and good battery and can be a very good buying choice especially if you are little low on budget, but if you want a dual sim phone stay away from it.
